Chelsea legend Didier Drogba says this year's Premier League title race will go to the wire.
Tuesday, December 30, 2014 - Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba, says that the 2014-15 Premier League campaign will be won in the final match of the season.
Chelsea
were tipped to run away with the title a few weeks ago after they
opened a nine point lead over second placed Manchester City, but the
champions have cut the gap to three points at the halfway stage of the
season.
While Drogba insists that The Blues have not been complacent, he expects more twists before the winners are crowned in May.
The veteran Ivorian told The Mirror: "I think it's going to be tough.
"Even when people were saying differently a few weeks ago, we knew it was not over.
"A few years ago I think we were 11 or 12 points in front of Man United and then they won the league.
"So
eight points or nine points - I don't know how many points we had on
top of Man City - I think it is not enough. It was too early at that
time of the season.
"But I think now we start again a new championship. I think the game is on. I think it will go all the way till the end."
Jose Mourinho’s side travel to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on New Year's Day.
