Lesnar under fire for blading at WM 31, WWE issues statement

If you watched Wrestlemania 31 you saw Brock Lesnar unchained in his match with Roman Reigns that served as the main event. Lesnar brutalized Roman Reigns until he was slammed face first in to a ring post and busted wide open. A "crimson mask" as JR would say of blood ran down his face and that served as a critical storytelling element that made Lesnar seem human and Reigns a legitimate threat. The "if it bleeds we can kill it" saying applies here. Rumors circulated that Lesnar used a small razor blade to open the cut himself. This is a technique called "painting" or "blading" and is outlawed even in wrestling rich states like Kentucky. WWE has a strict policy against blood on their TV PG product and they quickly issued a statement refuting the accusations that Lesnar did in fact cut himself open.
WWE programming is TV-PG and we don't permit intentional bleeding. The communication or contact between our performers and referees is part of our safety protocol. That said, unintentional blood sometimes occurs, and we do our best to minimize.
Most fans no longer trust the WWE on anything. They throw die hard fans out of events, they confiscate signs, they make fun of "smart fans", don't push who we want to see as main event performers, and disrespect legends like Sting. The creative team is continually a joke and constantly doing things that make us scratch our heads in utter confusion. At least we know in this case they did not break their own policies and stuck to one of their own rules.
